1) What is the process to rent an apartment?
There are 3 steps to leasing through Meredith’s.
Step 1: Go to the top toolbar on our Meredith’s Properties website. Click on “Property Details.” Click on “Floor Plans and Virtual Tours” to view a tour of our 1, 2, and 4 bedroom apartments. Select which type of unit you want.
Click on “Property Details” and then “Application and Draft of Lease & Guarantor Documents.” You and your guarantor should review the lease and the guarantor documents. You and your Guarantor are encouraged to email questions you may have about the documents to Meredith’s.
Step 2: Email your completed application to Meredith’s (meredith@meredithsproperties.com). Make sure that your roommates submit theirs too!
Step 3: Arrange a tour of an available unit with Meredith's. Sign lease after tour.
-
2) How do I schedule a tour and how long will it take?
Call the office to schedule a tour. Tours usually last 20 minutes unless you are looking at multiple units.
-
3) Is there an application fee?
Never!
-
4) Do I have to pay for utilities?
Meredith's Properties pays for hot and cold water, high-speed Internet and WiFi, and garbage and recycling services. The tenants are responsible for the electric bill, or they can choose to enroll in our utility allowance program.
-
5) Can I move in early?
The move-in date is stipulated in the lease, but exceptions are sometimes made. Call the office to explain your situation and to request consideration for an early move-in date.
-
6) When is the rent due? What if I can’t pay on time?
The rent is due on the first of the month as outlined in the lease. To avoid a late payment charge, call the office to make arrangements for an alternate payment date.
-
7) What if I need to be matched with a roommate?
Call the office to let us know you need to be matched with a roommate. We can review availability and options with you.
-
8) Will I know ahead of time if Meredith’s Properties will be stopping into my apartment?
Absolutely. Meredith's Properties gives our tenants 24-hour notice before entering their units. Only in the event of an emergency would we enter an apartment unannounced.
